Tree and Rock 2.

Same tree and rock from another angle. This time the processing is just Lightroom (plus NX Studio for conversion of the raw file). As is the way with Lr, the look is more natural this time.

I agree with Mike. However, I think I prefer this one.

Good one RG. I much prefer this one as opposed to the first one you posted.

Thank you Carol. My own preference is for a natural look.

Thank you Frank. I think I'll stick with that preference as well. But it's good to try different things now and then.

I like this photograph very much. My only nit is it seems too centered. I think moving the tree and rock right or left of center would improve the picture in my opinion.

Great shot! I would crop 15% off the right.

Dennis and Bob, I don't have a problem with a centred composition, but I had been toying with the idea of using the shadow to create a diagonal composition. Here's a version where the shadow emerges from the bottom right hand corner. I like it but not any more than the first one.

I really like the subject and the composition but I would like to see more detail in the rock

Thanks for doing that. To be honest and meaning no offense I don’t see much difference. There is a shadow in both photos to me. But no matter. I do like the picture. If you like it then I am a happy camper.

I tried that but it didn't fit in with the lighting of the rest of the shot. In this shot the brightness, shadow and direction of the lighting are significant.
