Just received my AF-S NIKKOR 70-300 f/4.5-5.6G. Listed as Near Mint.
This lens looks as if never used. Not a mark and functions perfectly!
Will definitely use the seller again.
Delivery: eight days order to my door!

The one thing about Japanese sellers on eBay is their shipping charges are usually quite high. I always look for those that offer free shipping.
When I was in the market for a Nikon 70-210 f/4-5.6D zoom I managed to find one from Japan in mint condition for $89 with free shipping. The lens truly was mint and I'd gladly do this again any time.
The only additional cost was the CT state tax that PayPal added to the transaction. Made me wonder why I should pay state tax for a sale in Japan.
Several years ago Ken Rockwell gave this lens a glowing review, stating that it focused faster than the older non-D version and prices on eBay shot up to over $300. So finding one for $89 was great.

While you purchased the lens from a Japanese seller, it will be used by you in Connecticut. You must pay
use tax for any product bought out of state, and used in Connecticut. Like most states, Connecticut charges sales tax on certain items purchased within the state. Items purchased out-of-state are liable to use tax. On most states' income tax returns, you're asked to voluntarily remit use tax on anything purchased out-of-state, but not charged by the seller. eBay collects use taxes automatically and remits those to the various states where the merchandise is delivered. A lot of times it's referred to "sales" tax, but it's most often "use" tax.
It's done this way in most states or locales which have sales/use taxes.

I have always done well with Japanese sellers. Their products are indeed in excellent condition, and they are eager to make a good transaction. One thing, though, that i've learned...when there is a listing that states 'make offer', they are not willing to budge on their listed price.
I wonder how you can get a lens from Japan in eight days, but parts for a car take 3 mos. lol

They are shipping a piece of equipment that is in stock. Others need to fill a shipping container or manufacture an item. In stock is very rare,
Hope the quality meets the delivery time👍

I had a similar experience with my first used lens purchase from a Japanese seller on EBAY. The lens arrived in a week, was in pristine condition and inside the box was a hand written thank you note and an origami crane (which I still display on a shelf).
