It's not about saving time, it's about excluding the barrage of commercials and extraneous "hoopla".

I DO remember having to wait to see the Miracle on Ice after the fact and make sure not to know the end. THAT was def. the wait. There are two significant sporting events that are etched into my memory forever: Michigan's upset of Ohio State in '69 and the Miracle on Ice.
