Borrego Springs

There are a large number of full-size sculptures of prehistoric creatures around Borrego Springs in Southern California. They are mind boggling. All but one were scaled from fossils found in the area so are authentic though I suspect the artist embellished them some to make them look more fierce. The serpent is the exception. It is mythological. To give you a sense of scale the wider gap between the center humps of the serpent is a highway. I took these nine years ago with my Nikon D90. The sculptures are miles apart so I advise visitors to obtain a map first. PS. The wild flowers at a certain time in the Spring are fantastic, also.
