Putin was pissed at the USSR broke up. Slimy Despot wants it back again. Now he has the rest of the world, by the short & curlies, with fear of using Nukes, he’ll be looking further afield after Ukraine.
He took Belarus by stealth, parking his troops there for the last couple of years. Just over the fence to Ukraine.
Watch his space. USA might be next, if he cobbers up with PingPong??

Putin already has NATO on his border (Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania). And Belarus, a close ally of Russia, borders on Poland.
A Russian invasion of Poland, a NATO country, would trigger Article 5 and would be considered an attack on all NATO countries.

Putin wants to restore the original Iron Curtain boundaries that the Soviet Union established after WW II. Being an independent country means nothing to him or the lives and property of it's citizens. Want some background read " Winter Is Coming ", by Garry Kasparov.
