This was done with a simple Nikon L-22 camera... love these things, they focus well almost to the front of the lens...Lol
Dandelions...yes, they are weeds! However, with a little Miracle Grow can do what you see.
This one measured three inches across.

Miracle Grow instead of scissors for dandelions? Neat idea and great photo!

Nice shot.
Yes, P&S does work. I have a Canon Elph 180 that is my "casual carry" camera because it just exactly fits in the watch pocket of my jeans. It takes great pictures and has a lot of features that I don't use. Focus and exposure are usually very good, plus it is light weight and easy to use. People who knock P&S cameras are missing some great opportunities.
I have used a P&S exclusively for many years - Canon Powershot SX10. For a while, after joining UHH, I had gear envy, but I got over it. It's not a competition. I love my compositions, the images are sharp, and and it's not too heavy to carry around. The primary drawback for me is the limited aperture range, but I like the nearly 600mm focal length. Nearly all the images I have posted were taken with it, and many are wall hangers. Alas, it died last year. New P&S are outside my budget range, and they don't offer the two features I most liked: eyepiece and articulating LCD panel. A friend with the same camera doesn't use hers, so she's giving it to me! I'll be back in the saddle again soon.
Mine is a Coolpix P7000. Great lens, as adaptable as a DSLR, just not enough tele.
Beautiful shot, Bill! The thing behind the camera is what counts.

Correct. What's behind the camera is more important than what's in the camera.

Sometimes there nothing more moving than a closeup of the beauty embodied by a fresh dandelion 💛💛💛💛💛

Nice image. My pocket camera is the Lumix ZS-100. 25-250mm plus macro. Can't go wrong.
