We have now found two batches of baby alligators and have been watching them for several weeks. They range from about 9 to 12 inches. They make a funny little noise - like a very soft "wuah" sound. They seem to be surviving well, in spite of all the predators around. The momma gators are never far away from either batch - we looked around by the second batch and sure enough, mom was hiding in the brush, watching us.... . So comforting to have a telephoto lens.....

Gators are interesting creatures. They can move like lightning. One time at Fort Stewart, Georgia while standing on the bank of a pond I had one come up at my feet, stick it's eyes up out of the water and watch me.

Great set. Hope they don't get preyed on by a Burmese python.
