Did you try MPB or KEH. They may have what you are looking for. I would rather have a NIKON lens than any other maker. Good luck in your search

So no to the Tamron? The reviews said it was good.

I don't think anybody said 'no'? I saw a preference, but not a no. I agree with the poster who expresses a preference for Nikkor... but, check out the price range of the KEH used Tamrons which are pretty darned nice lenses, and then look at the price on that preferred Nikkor lens. My wallet says Tamron or Sigma over half the time. The price difference is about 3x more for used and if you step up to new lenses it's still 2x more for Nikkor and now you're looking at double the warranty (US) for Tamron and arguably equal or better quality. Your money, your choice. Good luck!

So you would settle for good and not best because it is cheaper? Save a little more and get a Nikon. You won’t be sorry. The best glass ALWAYS cost more. So good pictures or Best pictures you can get????

You're making my point. If you want 'best', do your homework and make sure you're not getting bested. This particular lens is not a good choice for the 'it costs more so it must be better' argument. Many reviewers prefer the Tamron. Pay your money and take your pick. I like your thinking because it will keep Nikon afloat a little longer and I do love their cameras. Anyway, I still say to the OP, watch and read reviews and maybe even try one of each if you can find a way to do it, but the choice is yours. Now you know at least two other people don't agree on what you should choose, a place to start.

See my post just above.

I own the 24-70 G2 and 150-600 G2, in Canon EF mount. They are superb lenses. Reviews here and there all rank the G2 lenses very well... especially as the prices are typically 40-60% less than their Nikon/Canon/ Sony competitors.

If you haven’t found this lens, let me know. I have one I bought and have only used a couple of times. If interested I would sell it for 800.00. I also have the original packaging and I have a protective carry case for it also which we could discuss if you are interested.

rbtree, I have these same lenses but in Nikon mount. I consider them excellent lenses.
I really should sell/trade my Tamron 150-600 G2 since I am closing in on 80 and I have used it only 3 or 4 times (from my front porch) and pick up a Tamron 70-200 G2 in its place.
