Has any one had any experience with a issue called focus jumping or creeping? I've look at numerous reviews and it has come up numerous times.
Exactly my question. You beat me to the punch in asking it.

No issues with my 150-600 G2.

Thanks. The angry photographer did not give a very glowing review of it. I have seen the focus jumping issue mentioned more than once. That's Tamron in case any one was wondering.

I would take anything said by the angry photographer with a BIG grain of salt .......

Have both the Tamron 150-600mm f/5-6.3 G2 and Nikon 200-500mm f/5.6 mainly used for birding. The thing I've noticed with AF on the G2 is that it doesn't always achieve a solid lock, i.e., the little arrows and circle lock indicator in the lower left side of the ovf occasionally never achieves a solid lock, but the little arrows dance on either side of the circle even when I've got the focus point over an edge. I can "fix" it by finding a harder edge, like a bird's neck, but most of the time even without a good lock the images are in good focus. I do have the latest firmware in the G2 and D500 I use it on. The Nikon lens just plain locks and holds lock, but it a bit slower to focus than most of my f-mount glass.

Thank you for that info. I'm back and forth between the two.

Nope! Didn't have the problem with my gen 1 before my G2 either.
I have had it happen with my Canon 24-105L but only when pointed straight down or while carrying it hanging on a strap. And it didn't start until I had had it for years with a LOT of use wearing the bearing surfaces inside the lens. I still use the lens and it takes great images. I just avoid pointing the camera straight down.
