I bought a cheap plastic dustpan with a little hand broom the other day at Home Depot. The next day I was asked to write my thoughts about it. I started to tell them that I was very disappointed that it did not come with batteries or even a way to plug it in. But I never hit send.

Yup, no matter what I get at one drugstore, I get a 'survey', for every visit......
I just delete them now.

I like the ones from stores about printer ink... Rate your ink cartridges?
It's ink, it'll either work or it won't.

While in the course of a search for a hand broom ~ dustpan combo on Amazon a few years ago, I came across many that looked as though they'd fit the bill. One of those, however, stood out from among the others, not simply on the basis of price (which was, of course, cheap), but mainly on the fact that the sweeper nestled deftly in a slot in the handle of the pan, and so the two, when not in actual use, would become one and thus inseparable.

Digging deeper as any conscious consumer would, I read (and I paraphrase) the following user review, and it changed my life:

"I like that the broom and the pan fit together, but alas, I can only award a single star. No instructions accompanied this broom/pan combo, so I find this purchase impossible to use."

Obviously, their brain came without instructions! (Or they're really, really tired of review requests and have a sense of humor.)

(At least they didn't give the "product" one star because of poor shipping......)

It amazes me that corporations ask you for your opinion so that they can "better serve the customer."
All the while boosting their profits and not serving you any better. And they want this information from you,
for FREE!
I tell them to put a 20 dollar bill in my hand and I'll take a 5 minute survey. I never hear from them again.

Same thing I tell the telephone survey folks - good data isn’t free.

Btw, my wife just bought 3 of those little nested hand broom/dustpan combos, one for sweeping litter off the floor next to each of our litter boxes - very handy.

If the brooms were a bit stronger you could fix the situation permanently and never need to buy more kitty litter!

If my cat was really smart, she’d use the toilet (I’ve actually seen cats trained to do that)

There is one on toilet paper and Wirecutter is the creator of it.

Yes - it makes sense to get a survery asking about how the batteries I just purchased yesterday worked....
