Original image edited in Snapseed, then brought into IColorama on my IPad and painted using my Apple Pencil. Finally, the image was opened in Distressed Fox to add a slight grunge filter overlay. Original image shot with IPhone 8+
If I tried that, though, I’m sure I’d end up with a smudgy looking mess!

Mine were pretty smudgy when I first started. They are starting to get a little clearer now. Actually, with the paint brush settings you will do what they call an an under painting that uses a smudge technique by stroking the image, then change one brush setting. Then just lightly tap on areas that you want to bring back more detail in. The entire workflow process is covered in the training videos.

iPhone 8+ ... mine is also and 8+, there is a major problem with taking photos with this iPhone... ME!! Your photo and the treatment is [superlative? which one?]. Consider the famous water color painters of the past and how much skill and hours it took for them to achieve what you have done.

LOL, thanks for making me laugh and thanks for link! I will check it out. FYI, you don’t need a pen to do this work. You can use your finger. I have to say though that after using my finger and the pen, the pen is easier for me.
Interesting that with this technique the practically bald sky ended up not looking bad. But the little boy's missing half of a body should be painted in.
