Thank you Don. Yes, lucky to get so much coming together. But since you mention it I wouldn't mind catching one on a rocky mountainside. That's where I'd definitely need a telephoto though.

I responded above, then went back and looked at your image again. I just have to say again, this is a beautiful image. We run across these animals while hiking and, yes, they're generally skittish. But, sometimes you'll come across a big buck with an attitude that expects you to yield the trail to them. Again, an exceptional image.

You're right. I can remember having to walk right through a herd of them that was traversing the track I was walking on. They weren't defiant but they weren't afraid either. I would be wary of them round about rutting season. Maybe it's just the camera carriers they're wary of
