Another restored Stereo Nude card of mine from yore with the original hand coloring. Maybe considered an ideal of femininity because she is shown with her hand mirror.

By shrinking the view of the web page I can get the spacing between the images to match my interpupillary distance and get the 3D effect.

Well done!

Cool! Thanks. Since I retouched each figure twice, I thought I might as well show both sides as well. The pictures vary in angle of view and are a challenge to retouch. In any case, guys like you who can see the side-by-side version in-depth are rare.

A very cool part of photography I know nothing about. Thanks for the posts and the info.

I am curious to know how "bad" the originals are. Will you post one so that we can see your restoration skills?

Neat trick. Never would have thought of trying that! Thanks for sharing.

Yes. To make it work (once you have the images at about your interpupillary distance or less), you look at a spot between the two images and pretend you are looking through the screen at a distant object (infinity). You should see 4 images that you can manipulate (by adjusting your eye viewing distance) into 3 images, with the middle one being the 3D.

Do not tilt/cock your head or the images will not be aligned horizontally.

A true 3D image pair is much better viewing than the colour anaglyphs.

Here is an example of a Before and After area. This one was relatively clean. Others I have done are much worse. Believe me, looking at all the grain, noise, and scratches in stereo is not a pleasant viewing experience that you want to do. With a good clean stereo view however, you will look at it for minutes at a time.

Thanks.

Thanks for the before and after. I can see it would be a lot of work, but the results are great!

Damn, I miss my Viewmaster and the disks of the Grand Canyon. That pull-down clunk had a certain appeal.
