Great idea! What company provides your insurance?
sorry I hit the wrong button the first time I tried to reply to your question about insurance.

I have State Farm for car and home. So I added a personal property policy for my jewelry and camera. Love it…if I drop it in the ocean they replace. Lol fat chance that is what my wrist strap if for.

I bought this camera about 1.5 years ago at B&H, thinking that it would be a great camera.
I have only used it for events. I keep it very secure when not in use, and I take care of it like a baby, and this is applicable to all of my equipment.

About 30 days ago, I started hearing a click-click sound inside. I turned if off, then back on, removed the battery, then it would work for 20 minutes and the clicking sound started again. Then the screen would go black and would only focus on very bright lights. I would restart it, again to 20 minutes of work.
I called sony, they told me to reboot it for 30 seconds and update the software, I did.

The same thing happened again. I am so frustrated.
I called sony again, they will not honor the warranty because it's past the year (just a couple of months).

The first time I called they said they would do an exception and cover it, then when I called again the Filipino lady that answered said that they will not cover it.

She would not give me the number to public relations and she was closed-minded and did not really know anything other than saying no.

I am so frustrated, I paid about 2500.00 for this camera, and now it's a piece of junk.

Please help! Anybody with a similar experience?
I have NEVER had this experience with my CANON cameras!!

You were always satisfied with Canon and yet you bought a Sony. One question - "Have you learned anything ?"

I was satisfied with Nikon and yet I bought a Sony four years ago. I learned that Sony is a superb camera, much better than any camera I had owned before.

Meaningless drivel.

For instance it matters not at all whether "the press" got their gear from Sony or Canon or whomever. The promotional prices from each supplier are the same. Could be $1 or $100,000. The amount doesn't matter. What matters is that all offers are about equal. Therefor "the press" chooses gear for reasons OTHER than nonexistant price differences.

One example is enuf. But the rest of your post is equally baseless.

What are you on? It's always about the cash. Newsflash, what do you think that the Nikon Z9, being about a grand cheaper that Sony will do next year? Nikon did not have anything to offer, but they sure do now. I work with the Sports Press Crews and they are not all shooting Sony. Plus, please understand that not all offers are equal, you have to provide the Bait and throw in extras FOR FREE. Accept that. Today is not been a good day, my Friend was shot and killed in the Ukraine, He was a Press Reporter. Maybe you heard about that.

To avoid all responses, keep your rants between you, yourself and the lamppost. Works perfectly (much same as a Sony).

As a user of five brands, and therefor no fanboi, I find the devices equally reliable. I cannot comment on their service work cuz nothing has failed until it had finally depreciated to near zero and also become functionally obsolete.

Why don't you follow your own advice? Who gave you the keys to the Gate. Seems like I struck a nerve with you. Like I said, it has not been a good day.
