Cannon makes towels. There are lots of Canon SX50 and SX60 cameras listed on eBay. I'm actually in the process of teaching my 8 year old granddaughter photography and I'm using an older Canon SX30. It pretty much does what the 50 and 60 do, has a tilt screen and is 14 megapixels so the images are decent, and if she breaks it, I won't be too upset.

Thanks for your reply. I wrote back quickly when I received your email. I was in a meeting. I didn't mean to be short with my response. The camera will be a birthday present for my grandson. I am open to see what responses I receive on the make of the camera. I don't want to spend too much for a 8 year old's birthday present. He will be very happy if I gave him a camera for his birthday.

You can't get shutter counts on bridge or point-n-shoot cameras.
