Two Black Necked Stilts foraging on the island in the Duck Pond at the Riverwalk Parkway - Riverside CA.
Now, did they evolve the long bill to reach food without sitting down or did they evolve the legs to keep their bill from poking into the ground all the time??? Inquiring/bored minds want to know.
