A kewl day-mostly cloudy lite breeze, 43 F. Took the posted shots while looking for/waiting for some Juncos to stop by.
The black Astrolorp showing some different colors in her iridescence. This is a low-light shot D850, 500pF, 1/500, f 5.6, ISO 4000 EC -1.0. Still the bird shows almost metallic colors.
Sally the Houdan Hen is the boss of the barnyard, even chasing off the Duck gang from time to time. Her mate Harry died last Fall, so she has taken up residence with the other four chickens in the main coop. A real character, she runs almost everywhere intimidating the others-chickens and ducks alike- and working to get the first shot at bugs.
I caught her sticking her head out of the fence for grass/weeds-fresh green stuff. One of the ducks caught her head in this fence. We had cut out a section of fence so she could extricate herself!
Download and enjoy!
Nice set, excellent technique.
