what to use with a Nikon D5

Hello, I had expected to purchase a used D3s but when time came I found I had enough pennies to buy a D5. Now I need to know what type of CF cards to buy. The D5 documentation just says to not use the mini's or Type II. Do the Nikon D5 users out there have a preferred one or recommended one?

The D5 came in TWO versions. The FIRST thing you need to do is determine which version, BEFORE you start buying cards. Some took CF and some XQD. IF you have the XQD version you can update the firmware and use CFE, which, IMHO, would be your BEST choice! Best of luck.
