But the message was from Janet Yellen! Sorry, I didn't show that.

McAfee has just renewed my security and charged my annual fee of $769.00 to my credit card. Please confirm.

This is why I am always puzzled when folks say they can't afford a lens or a certain cam body.

I just go to e-mails like this...collect my huge free sums...and buy everything in sight.
When I run out of coin...there is always another email from strangers giving me more.

The internet is so...wonderful.

Surly they could come up with some more realistic department names...

And they sent you money out of thin air?
Why would those "departments" be sending you money???

Reads like it was written by a child. No matter—ignore it.

You point out the obvious, yet in most cases can't see it.

Sounds like a heck of an opportunity to me! I would jump all over that before it is too late!!
I was stationed in the Philippines, in the Navy. Have stayed in beautiful Baguio a few times. How long have you been there?

I didn't think to take this offer - I already have multiple millions in credit cards from other offers! Too many to keep track of!

As to Baguio, I put a brief description and my thoughts on another post here:

I moved to the Philippines 6 years ago for several reasons, not the least of which was a lower cost of living, as I live on my Social Security. I do miss the opportunity to ski (no snow here at all), ride motocross and coach girls high school basketball (as I did in the US - no girls basketball here). Currently, I would not return to the US even if I could, in view of the rapidly declining state of everything there, and the attempts by some to follow the glowing examples of China and Russia in the government controlling not just actions, but all thought - present or past, as well. Certainly, there are many cultural differences between the US and the PI, but I have had no problems in adapting, and find much to be more desirable here. For instance, it's nice to hear Christmas carols in the stores at Christmas (not Holiday Season). And even the poor in the provinces take care of themselves and family, and seem to lead happy lives.

I would add that Baguio, situated in the mountains at an elevation of 5,000 feet, not only is beautiful year-round, but has the only climate in the PI in which I could live - too hot and humid everywhere else. I'm sure you heard it called "the Summer Capital of the Philippines". The normal population now is approaching 400,000, but during holidays (of which there are many here) it is said to be around a million - people want to get away from miserable Manila! Building, renovation and cleanup have been non-stop and increasing, and Baguio is a very well-run city.

My wife is a Filipina I met a couple of weeks after my arrival, and we have been together the entire 6 years, She's quite young, but also quite remarkable - all that I possibly could ask! I like it here - and again, I will not be returning to the US for the remainder of my years (not too many, though, at 94).

How long ago were you in the PI and Baguio? I suspect there have been major changes since that time.

I was in Cubi Pt., Olongapo City for three years in the mid 70s. I loved it but hated the heat and humidity. What a nice change when I was able to visit Baguio!
