A walk at the wetlands.

I need the exercise, so I walk a few miles almost every day. Living where I do I can walk on the beach which is about 5 miles away, or I can walk at the nearby wetlands. Either place is almost always interesting. The black grackles and red-winged blackbirds are hard to get good images of, but the wood stork, with its bright white feathers and dark head, is even more challenging and often requires a little post-processing.

Photos with the "ancient" technology of a Canon 6D (v.1) and the Canon 100-400mm telephoto (also v.1)

Very nice photos. I often wonder how a heron can eat a fish that big.
