I had been taking pictures of my children in 1970 with a Brownie Hawk Eye The quality of course was terrible so I bought a used Canon F-1 and was hooked on photography after seeing the difference. On a whim I showed some photos to the Charlotte Observer and they hired me as a stringer although I had no hope of being hired.
Here is a copy of my daughter in about 1977.

Beautiful 💫💫💫💫💫
I consider myself an advanced hobbyist. I went to digital in 2005. I hope the OP has gone there, too. It is comforting to be able to see the result of a photo immediately, and the lack of cost for film and developing is more than welcome.
I gave up my darkroom when I discovered the magic of digital many years ago. I agree that it is so nice to be able to see a photo immediately. Back in the old days when I didn't have much money I rationed my film and dark room supplies so I sure don't miss that problem.
Thanks for all the kind comments.

That photo turned out quite nice. Granted, the subject matter helps, but it is a very nice photo, obviously well done.
Beautiful portrait issa2006.
