Yes I do recall that. It puts his cred right next to the foveon troll and also our fave Sony fanboi.

LOL My advice would be to buy a used Model T. Not too many Bs and Ws there.
BTW, I inheirited my uncle's '41 Pontiac after the war. Six wheels (counting the steering wheel and a spare) plus a radio. That simple enough or is a radio too advanced for you? If you could find one like it, you could remove the radio, pick up a few years on the T. :-)

That is indeed a good summary of his quandary. However I would query your "limited remaining life" comment regarding his current D7500. That camera could serve him well for years to come, and any improvements that the newer models bring will be fairly marginal. Second hand F mount optics are only going to get cheaper and cheaper as Z mount takes over.

I’ll agree that there’s probably plenty of life left in his D7500, but I wouldn’t call the improvements that mirrorless would bring marginal. Especially with the type of shooting the OP does.

Throw more money at your SLR system. You're already far too enfeebled to spend it on Wine, Women, and Song, anywho.

I won $100,000 in the lottery. I spent most of it on women and booze. The rest I just wasted. 😜🤪
The nearest camera store is Glazers in Seattle.

Cam: Glazers rents cameras so it might be worth a call to see if they have what you want. I used them in the past and they have good gear. However, shipping to Canada might be a problem.
Good Luck!

I’ve spent tons of money at Glazers but never thought of them to rent from. Good idea. Also, I am in Southeast Alaska but surrounded by Canada. We have to go through Canada to get anywhere else. Since 9/11 you have to have a passport and the US pressured Canadian border agents into carrying guns.

The camera decisions are not big. Life decisions are big.

I agree, photography is just a hobby to most people, life decisions are for everybody.
