Just returned from Yellowstone. It was not the stellar year like last year with wolves and lots of wildlife. Even the bison were fewer and far between. However, I still think the bison are such magnificent animals I enjoyed taking their photos again!
I found myself in a bit of a pickle with the first 2 photos. I had hiked down a closed road that cross-country skiers used to see the bison off in the fields, yes giving them plenty of space. When the group decides it is going to cross the road I was on! So some go off to the right side and some go off to the left. I'm in the middle, the mom and calf just stop and look, the solo one decides to walk right toward me. So, off to the field I go where they just were to let them have the road. They were not threatening in any way, but there was one still in the field and the solo one seemed determined to go where I was standing. Of course I took photos while deciding my best course of action to stay out of their way!
All had passed, but mom and calf stopped to check me out.

A very good series. I Especially like no. 5. The Bison is a very good representative of nature's force. It boggles the mind that some in our previous generations could murder them, just for entertainment!

Poul.
Poul, I donβt understand wanting to kill any animal other than to put food on the table.
Beautiful set. They still scare me more than Grizz
Magnificent beasts, photographed well!
