Late yesterday afternoon, along (or actually, slightly off) the trail at Grandview Point, Island In The Sky District of Canyonlands Nat'l Park.
There's a Wallace Williams Stevens <dumb error corrected...> poem named "Thirteen Ways of Looking at a Blackbird". Since there were no blackbirds handy --and surprisingly, not even a single raven-- I had to make do.
And besides, though there are many trees along the way, this one is an old friend I went to visit.
