Roseate Spoonbill, Wakodahatchee Wetlands.
To get this guy either landing or taking off it is helpful to spot them before they either start to take off or as they are coming in from above for a landing. It helps to have you gear set up ahead of time in anticipation of there action.
Here, I tracked the Spoonie as it came in from above and waited until it started to land and wave it's wings.
Nikon D500, Nikon 200-500 5.6 @ 500mm f5.6, ISO 500, 1/2500 sec., continuous auto focus, aperture priority, Group Auto Focus, 10 frames per second.

…you know what I just realized…you had the camera position vertically so you were able to get from the tips of the wings to the bottom of the toes…there was a lot of planning with this shot…
