Different Type of Panorama

Most are sunsets, sunrises, landscapes, mountains etc. etc.
I have these two of a smaller area. In Riverside CA there is a park named "Riverwalk Parkway". It is a man made river with a series of ponds, rapids and a couple of dams built in a flood control channel almost a mile long. These two are from the viewing platform in the middle of one of the ponds.
You have to click on the images to see the whole thing.
This was my first photo trip to the Riverwalk since Covid-19 started.

1. 17 shots of the north west to west side of the northern end of the pond with lots of birds and turtles
2. 5 shots SE to South to SW end of pond with dam and ducks

Canon 90D, Canon 70-300L @ 140, 1/500 @ f/8.0, ISO varies by frame - hand held

I had to clone in and fill areas, which I am not great at so you will spot bad areas and repeated features in some places

Looks like you shot them horizontal. Try vertical to avoid the long skinny picture.

Yes, I know that and have done so in the past. These two were spur of the moment while doing water birds with a telephoto and hand held. I have a fairly high end cinema head for my tripod that has the markings for doing panos and a built in level to help keep things aligned. And each shot would have been about twice as many frames to cover the same area.

Here is a 7 shot pano I did in 2019 with portrait mode.

5DIV, 24-105L @ 105, 1/250 @ f/8.0, ISO-100
From the north slope of the Santa Ana Mtns just SW of the city of Corona where I live looking across Corona, CA-91 and the Santa Ana River across the east end of the LA Metro area (Ontario and western San Bernardino) to Mt San Antonio and the western end of the San Bernardino Mtns.

Shot enclosed with two tiers of 5 vertical shots, hand held about 25% overlap, 1/125, f/11 ISO 117MM (of a 100-400)., process in purely in LR. I have yet to use a tripod for pano's.

OK

For that scene I have a 14mm Ultra Wide I would have used. I used to have a 10-24 zoom but my daughter fell in love with it for Anime/Cosplay events and I gave it to her. Now she is a 3rd year medical student and no time for photography so maybe I can "borrow it back" for a while.

That's one way except your picture is smaller and you have step way back or you get convergence on the ends. I find that unsatisfactory when I want to get close and see the details. That photo I submitted I tried with 14mm and it came mundane and distant.

👌Some scenes one method works better and other scenes it is the other way.
