I've been so fortunate to be able to shoot some of NC State's Women's basketball games this year. Especially with them being ranked so high in the national polls. These are from Senior Day and the four seniors went out with a roar! They contribute 46 of State's 95 points in a blowout win against Syracuse to clinch at least part of the regular season ACC title. (The first in 32 years!) Here are a few images from the game.
Shot with Nikon Z9, 1/1250, f2.8, ISO 5000, EV +5 with a bit of touch up with DeNoise AI.
Nice shots. Really like #2

My favorites are number 2 and 7. You done good kid. Nice white balance, stopped the action, the plays are coming to you, you see the ball, faces, numbers. Great job on a difficult sport.
Jules
Perfect captures. Thanks for sharing. Paul

How do you like the eye tracking with the Z9 up to this point, i.e. as they come towards you and laterally to your position? Excellent captures no doubt, sharp and great color.

I think it does a great job, especially when they "pause", as the gymnast has. She was about 25' away from me. Cropping the image and tweaking for noise yielded this shot.
Now, the attached hockey images are before I did any noise processing. Shot through plexiglass (about 1" thick), a visor from about 20' away, I thought it did a pretty good job as you can easily make out the eyes.
The gymnast on the balance beam is essentially moving laterally, although a bit at me and the eyes are easily discernible. A little additional post processing to handle the noise and they look quite good. I was probably about 25' away from her.
Obviously the closer I can get to my subject(s) the better it does. But regardless, it is better than anything I have used in the past.
Hope that is the information you were requesting.
