I think it is probably a Russian copy of a Leica camera.

I have a Contarex SEL made by Zeiss Ikon which is a German Company in 1971. I have a similar unit that I could put on the flash shoe but there is a wire connected from that unit to my camera. The camera cost $1,100 in 1971. The unit give a feature and function similar to ā€œPā€ in todays camera mode so it controlled the lens opening and shutter speed automatically, so I used it to photograph Las Vegas lights in the old downtown area in early 70ā€™s and the result is very remarkably beautiful. I was using a tripod and I was still a sophomore at USC at that time. The exposure is perfect and I was using a Carl Zeiss Distagon. Now that camera is retired and using Nikon 850D and Sony A7C now.

With Google Chrome, even with this small thumbnail, you just 1) right-click the image, 2) and select 'Search Image with Google Lens' from the resulting menu.

From the available responses, 3) you can find the one that seems to match, like the Leica III rangefinder.

Thanks for the tip on right clicking on the image to bring up Google Lens. I was always downloading the image and then using reverse image search in Google.

It could be a IIIG too.

Might be Alta as well...

The leatherette covering is different.
The position of the shutter release is different.
The rewind knob on the left of the camera is larger.

I don't think the camera the OP is asking about is an Alta.

I used to own a Canon years ago that resembled this camera. It was a clone to Leica cameras.

It is a Leica model 3 made in the 1940's, with a Leitz Universal Viewfinder (one of several models) plugged into the cold shoe.
