I have decided to thin the herd a bit and sell off some cameras. I have both a Nikon D800 and Df and am undecided on which to keep. Both are mint with very low shutter counts. I am inclined to keep the Df because it is a very unique camera and I do like all the manual controls. On the other hand the D800 offers much more resolution but at the cost of larger file sizes.
So I would appreciate any opinions.
And if anyone is interested in a mint D800 with about 4000 clicks let me know.
Thanks

Have you considered trading both bodies for one of something newer? Those were great in their days, but there's plenty of new technology out there. Nearly any advanced Nikon can be used totally manually.
If you sell you are likely to get more money for the Df than the D800 although the D800 was more expensive when new. But I can't advise you because I am not you.

Do you have any other cameras, or just those two?
I have my Df in semi retirement.
That’s no reason to get rid of a great camera.

I'm still using a D800 professionally.
While I'd like to have something newer, it does what I need it to do.
...Actually better.
My 85mm 1.4 Sigma won't work with the D810.
Firmware is too new.
4k activations on your D800 isn't even broken in yet!

It sounds like you've already decided. You may be surprised, though. The D800 may have more value as a keeper than it does on the sale market.

High resolution is lately becoming rather commonly available, so in future you can get there again if desired. OTOH the Df is harder to replace if you were to regret selling it. Keep the Df on that basis alone.
Thanks to all, I do have many other cameras since I suffered from bouts of GAS.
I preach every year an annual goal of thinning the heard. Rather than pitting just two full-frame Nikons against either, consider the larger context of your entire photography interests and consider who else no longer belongs.
Who is your go-to camera when the results matter most?
Who is your take anywhere camera, without concern of risk of loss / theft / etc?
Who doesn't get used because the images don't / no longer compete within the full inventory?
(If applicable) Who overlaps completely at the same pixel resolution and sensor format?
I'm not advocating reducing to one. But, maybe you went looking for answers to questions that now you know?

Since you are offering the D800 up for sale, I appears you have made up your mind.
For yourself answer these questions
what do you shoot?
What do you not like about the cameras you have?
Low shutter count indicates the cameras are not used much, why are you replacing them?
Is the pixel count too low?
Do you want more resolution?
If so, will your monitors be good enough?
Getting something like the high pixel count d850 requires excellent and expensive glass, I have experienced and read articles that say the Nikon 28 to 300 is not good enough for the D850. The D850 has approximately 45 MB file sizes
I had the D800, loved it. I traded it for a D810. I also have a D850. In my humble opinion, in terms of dynamic range and image quality, it is hard to beat the D810. I would trade your existing cameras for the D810, the current price for an excellent used D810 is a bargain.

In my opinion having only one camera is like having no cameras. Invariably one will eventually break or need to go in for a cleaning or get stolen etc. You love the look and operation of the Df so keep it and turn the dollars you get from the 800 into something a little more updated. Take a look at the Nikon Z5. While it doesn't have the resolution of the 800, it does not sound like the kind of photography you do is meant for making billboard size reproductions.
