Very nice series of photos that remind me of the fringes of the Badlands. Thank you for posting.

West edge of North Dakota, almost on the Montana State Line. Thanks Tim! It's my pleasure!
I was stationed at Fortuna AFS in 1972. The radar site sat atop the last high hill in the small chain running North-South along the N. Dakota-Montana border. I recognized the “look” of the scenes. A few miles East the land flattens out.
You have submitted some stunning and spectacular photographs. I never thought North Dakota looked like that. I need to check it out.

Thank you. That's exactly where they are from! Except they are from North Dakota. I always think South Dakota when I hear "Badlands".

Yep, you're right. 25 miles east is flat farm and cattle country. You would never suspect the look of the land if you didn't drive a little further.

Thank you very much, Dennis. Landscapes are not entirely new to me. It's only the western end of N. Dakota that looks like that. The eastern 2/3 of the state is much flatter and is widely farmed with a lot of cattle.
I'm glad you liked my photos!
It's definitely worth the extra driving time. If you ever get up there check out Theodore Roosevelt National Park.
Really very nice images Chief!
One thing though, would you please return my UFO! I have a shoot scheduled on Mars next weekend.

Thanks Bill!... I think we could probably work out a deal! Any space "A" opportunities available?
Wonderful set Chief, the images really come "alive" in DL!

That's a very nice comment! I'm glad you liked them, and I appreciate it!
I’ve been to teddy R park and nearby Medora twice. My biking buddies play golf and like the “Bully Pulpit “ course (or whatever it’s called.) While they played golf I set out with my camera. Medora provides a lot of photos opportunities as does the park. The prairie dogs there aren’t very afraid of people and are fun to shoot (with a camera of course). The best time to shoot landscapes is in the evening. That’s why I rode back to the park after getting settled in at Medora. Beautiful! Not what most people think of when you mention North Dakota.
