I like this picture but I'm trying to figure out exactly why.

It’s the texture that’s appealing

Patterns, texrures and colors, viewed just for themselves and not as a part of a larger image, are always interesting to me...

While the photograph does nothing for me I have taken dozens of similar photographs that seem to be photogenic at the time but when I get them home and try to process them nothing positive happens. Somewhere before taking the photograph and then getting it home whatever magic I thought was there has vanished into the delete file.

Its the rocks with lichen or fungus that adds the interest. Nice foto of basic nature.

It is a shot with amazing texture. Everywhere you look it changes with another texture, all pleasing together. It's very artistic! I like it too!

Like someone said, we are so accustomed to photoshop, etc. There used to be a saying that pictures don't lie but those days are long gone. This photo does not lie!.

I like the image: the variety of textures, various colors, and the pleasing way nature put them together for you to capture. Well done!

I like it too! Here is what I see; the rocks form a leading line from the bottom left to the upper right corner, the negative space on either side of the rocks have a different texture. All that is very appealing to your mind's eye.
