I haven't done a still life or tabletop for a while I thought this would make a good subject. The classic wine shot.
Nice Frank. I know the varietal but not the winery. Is it good?

Thanks Jack. My wife and I went out for dinner last night to a BYOB place. My wife didn't have any so you can only rely on my opinion.
It wasn't bad, and I enjoyed it. It is from Argentina. I don't recall if it was given to me or if my wife bought. In any case it will not go to waste.

I like that, nice choice of background that compliments the colour of the wine (somehow I don't think it would work with a white). And just soft enough to leave sufficient detail but not detract from the feature.

Thanks John, the set up was a simple one. One soft light set up. And of course a little work in PS.
I really like this, Frank. Nice work!

Thanks Patty, glad you liked the shot.
Kinda overall purple. I would like to see the wood tones at least neutralized.

This is the base shot that I was working with. I liked the overall tone that is why i went with the one I posted.

I like it.
I love still lifes but I am woefully inadequate. I will "endeavour to persevere".
I notice that bottle is mostly empty. ;)
One thing, colors seem a little flat to me and I'm viewing on my wide gamut monitor. ?? I hope that doesn't sound harsh. Just feedback on what I am seeing.
I have to agree I am not very good at still life’s. It is something I don’t do very often. But they are fun to do. As for the bottle being almost empty, if you look closely the wine level is just at the top of the label.
As for the color Fotoartist sees an overall purple look. So it may vary from monitor to monitor to some degree.
I find it interesting to hear viewers impression on any of my postings. So for that I thank you for taking the time to comment.
