Situational awareness, or the lack thereof.

As I was departing the subway earlier this morning, the woman alongside of me walked her phone into the backpack of the man in front of her and dropped it between the train and the platform. I decided to shoot people looking at their phones when they should have had a modicum of situational awareness, especially on the subways, or when crossing the street. My camera has a fixed 28, and on the street I did not stop to shoot, just fired as I walked along. I took maybe 25 to 30 shots, but I will only include a few of the most egregious. My editing was minimal. Just trying to make a point.

Great captures of a city awakening, to the sight of it's cell phones!

May as well be wearing a target on their backs! Sheesh! (I lived in Babylon Town for most of my life.)

Interesting. A good example of documentary photography.

I am a "town" person. I have no little phone and no need of one. If anyone wants me I have a landline. I am NOT on call to anyone.

Scary....at least they are on foot.
It is the idiots driving and texting that do the big damage.

Yeah, walking around in the "white zone" certainly makes them a target.
