Eagles of White Rock Lake Dallas

We took the grandsons to see the eagles that had chosen to nest in a highly trafficked area of Dallas, Buckner Blvd and East Lakelands, Drive just east of White Rock Lake. Very strong winds blowing from the south gusting to over 30 mph. I was able to get one tolerable shot before the kids impatience caused us to move on. This was around 2:00 pm. I posted on face book and the Photographers of Ellis County site around 4:00. Almost right after that we found out that after we left the wind blew the nest out of the tree. The tree was about 25 yards or so east of Buckner near the rugby fields. Hopefully they will rebuild but I at least have this one shot. It was probably 75 yards from where I was standing. Shot with Sony A77ii, Tamron 500mm lens, and a shoulder stock that I made so I wouldn't have to use a tripod for the lens. Hope you like it.

Nice 👍. Iam a few miles east in Royse City TX. Lots of BIF around our property. No eagles in our specific rual neighborhood, but an eagle was spotted several weeks ago in west Royse City. Love that their making nesting spots in Dallas.
