Loc: Tampa first, now Albuquerque
I think the last time I was at the Florida State Fair was in February 1964 when it was situated downtown close to the Hillsborough River. Ringling Bros circus used to set up right off the railroad tracks and Cass St bridge. I think that area now is part of the University of Tampa.

Yes, the old fairgrounds are now classroom buildings. The new site is at US 301 and I4. Lots of space.
