I think it is a type of fly but not sure, that flower is less than 1" in diameter so the fly gathering pollen is ???"-well tiny. There is a type of bee in the desert/semi-desert areas around here that is less than 2mm in size. Might be one of those. If I go out later with a macro lens and this one or another is hanging around the sorrel maybe I can find out just what it is.
Anyway this is a sort of teaching post on post processing using Lightroom Classic, Photo Shop & Topaz Denoise AI.

4. cropped, taken to PS, tones tweaked back to LrC and highlights lowered, contrast tweaked, greens and yellows tweaked and Topaz Denoise AI on standard
No sharpening done at all

As a picture no. 2 is my preference. For some reason it appears to be better in focus??? Thank you for demonstrating your experiment!!

I think it has to do with the contrast of blue background and the details of the yellow flower making it look sharper. I used no sharpening.
Now Topaz Denoise AI does have a sharpening component but it is turned down pretty low.
Thanks and you are welcome. Today is one of those days I miss teaching more than other days.
My favorite is the third on Robert. The flower really pops and the photo has a 3D feel.
