This doctor has developed a way for you to improve your attention. See that cap the man is wearing? If his attention wanders, increasingly large jolts of electricity will bring it right back. Maybe that will catch on in schools.

I had a few (well, really, lots) of candidates for that contraption where I was teaching.

Why is it that all of these wild claims come from doctors from India or some other third world country? I never give any credence to any of these advertisements. They are a good way to lose money.

That was very effective! Unfortunately, we’d get sued now for touching someone’s precious little darling.

Because they are using ancient wisdom from "The East."

Why did the Beatles latch onto Maharishi Mahesh Yogi for life advice, rather than Bob Smith from Wichita (made up name)?

For wild claims, just take a look at Dr. Oz and his "Miracle Drugs." We have more than our share of home-grown miracle workers.

U.S. Army in the 1950s used pointer sticks banging on your helmet liner to correct inattention in a class room setting.

I had one teacher that would pull hair on the the back of your neck. That would get your attention real quick 😜!

I'm sure Catholic schools had something similar. A nun with a ruler. And Sister Buick Riviera would have whacked me a few times for clowning.
