My initial post on 02/11/2022 of my photo of the Saskatchewan River complained on the rather too dramatic, mostly overcast sky. Many of you suggested that I edit out the the overcast and replace it with something else. To be frank I was not happy with the sky either but I felt that it would be "cheating" by replacing the sky akin to adding a full moon to a sky when there was none in the original photograph.
As suggested I did play around with the image and replaced the sky. I feel that the broken cloud cover does work with the foreground wits some areas in sunlight and other areas in shadows.
Your input is welcome.
I like this better than the original.

I like the details you brought out in it.
IMO, any changes added to your photo that allows the viewer to more understand your feeling for that photographic moment are fine. It is your artistic sense to help us as viewers relate to that photo.
And so do I. Thank you for the input.
Thank you for your input. 50 years ago when I was learning photography, changing the sky would have been a long tedious job, but the tools that are available to me is amazing.
