This is a lovely photograph, inspite of the clouds, of the Saskatchewan River The river is about 1,930 from the Bow River Eastward across Canada's prairie provinces and emptying into Lake Winnipeg.

I really like the location but I could do without the rather dramatic sky.

Beautiful photo. Agree the photo would be enhanced w/o the dramatic clouds. A few clouds would enhance the photo bette. Mahalo for sharing.

I guess its the old adage, a great scene does not create a great photograph, the artist's vision does. So what were you feeling when you captured this scene? What was your vision of what it should look like and how did you plan to pp it to make me feel the same thing? I'm not feeling it yet. I find this scene very difficult, I admire your challenge and choosing the theme/focus of where to direct my eye. Clearly the clouds are a strong element competing with both the river and the mountains. I'm wondering if some dodge and burn to recede some elements and bring others forward might help. Good luck.

It is a nice image. A good candidate for a sky changes as you said.

I would guess that PP has resulted in too much posterization - especially re the sky? It certainly is a great composition, but.....

Why not try to select the sky and lighten it in Levels, then desaturate the foreground and lighten it some. You have a good photo, worth experimenting a bit with.

I find the composition of this image quite appealing. However, I do agree with some of the other comments that this image has a huge amount of potential that hasn’t quite been realized yet. So many different ways to go to process this but stay true to your vision and present it with pride… It is a beautiful image.
