Have a Tamron 150-600 G2. Has anyone used a 1.4 Extender and what were the results?
Okay when using manual focus.

If you need autofocus and shoot a DSLR, you probably won't find an extender useful with this lens. Research the compatibility with your specific camera model.
Have the 150-600mm G2 and I don't recommend using it with a teleconverter. The G2 gets to f5.6 around 330mm focal length. With a 1.4x tele you are at f/8, which is the AF limit for most cameras, and then AF only works in the center of the frame on my Nikons. So as DaveO says, you are in manual focus beyond that point. You will take a slight hit in IQ, but you'll need to be pixel peeping to see it.
I have the Canon 1.4 extender and have used it with my 100-400mm zoom with good autofocus. Had to up the ISO slightly, though. If the extender is compatible with autofocus on your camera and the Tamrom lens, you should be fine. You just gotta know your limitations.

AF will be your biggest concern and, It will somewhat depend on your specific camera and light levels ......
I have found shooting @500mm f8 with appropriate shutter speed and then cropping and using pixel enlargement software to do very well.....on a Sony A99 ....
I have a Canon crop sensor 77D and use the 1.4 extender with my 150-600 G2 and the auto focus is hit or miss. I'll have to try to increase the iso to see if it helps. I don't have that much experience with the converter but AF is the only issue I've seen.
I have the Tamron 150-600 g2 and use a 1.4 on ocassion. Best when there is alot of light. Yea AF is hindered but if the light is strong it works. Since most times I use it is on a static or non flying subject it works fine. For birds in flight they need to be filling the frame. As someone stated tge ad will only work in the centerof the frame. If subject is on the edge you will probably miss the focus. Teleconverter work best with fast prime lens.
