Anyone one having a problem in getting can cat food? Here in Baltimore there is a problem as well on line such as Amazon & many others. My cats only like canned . Patti Thanks🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱

Wew are signed up with "Chewy" for a shipment every three weeks. Works like clock-works!

Check BJ's. About 10 days ago I found 48 can variety cases of Friskees there and it was cheaper than the supermarket or Chewy prices.

Guess all the cat food is stuck on a cargo ship off the Calif. coast.
Yes, we are too.
We have resorted to cheap tuna .

Short supply west of Philly also.
Seems to be off-and-on.
(We don't need it any more, but when I go down the pet food isle for dog food, one can't help but notice the bare shelves.)

I use Royal Canin that I get from my vet and have had no issues so far.

We get the Friskies with the Orange male cat on the front, because, well, we have an orange male cat. He throws up with other brands. We bought the last 2 bags on the shelf, hope the ships come in before those 2 bags are empty!

There are only a handful of canneries that process pet foods and labor and material shortages have hit this industry as well. I used to use Diamond canned cat food; it hasn't been available in over a year. I also use Dave's can cat food which is back in production. It is more expensive that what you get in the grocery store but it is also a better quality food. I order it from Amazon or Chewy.

Yes!! Have not been able to get canned Avoderm in 5oz cans for months. Resorted to purchasing the healthiest canned cat food available from Tractor Supply. No longer available on Amozon until recently.

I find it cheaper and more convenient to just feed my (two) cats whatever road-side kill I can find. Hooking the random cow/elk/deer/buffalo/ringtail cat (which, of course, is not a 'cat' at all) up to my Jeep and dragging it home tends to reduce the raw tonnage somewhat, but the cats seem to enjoy the resulting de-skinning and tenderization that happens in the process.

Our two Siamese won't eat anything but canned and Friskies dry food. We've been able to find the 24-packs of Fancy Feast pate, poultry and beef. They won't eat any kind of fish, and won't eat any table food. Kroger and Pet Smart both have had the packs in stock. They run around $18 +/-.

I feed my indoor cats (5) Pro-Plan dry food and an occasional can of Friskies, they get Temptations as daily treats. The outdoor cats get the cheapest dry food in the supermarket, with a daily can of Friskies. If all 6 have come, I have to put food out twice for them.

The only shortages I've seen are the Friskies canned food--I don't like the paté (too hard to put out) and sometimes the selection of the meaty bits or shreds is limited or not available. The cats don't care.

Yes, Chewy saved the day but we have been using Chewy for some time now - perhaps 2+ years.

Canned cat food is currently in very short supply in the Jackson, Michigan area, and prices have skyrocketed when you can find it. Canned dog food is also in short supply, but not quite as much so. We have 5 cats and 2 Great Danes, all rescues. We feed dry primarily with daily canned as supplement. For dry, we feed Taste of the Wild for cats, and Victor for the Danes. Both are available at TSC or Blaine's in our area.

My 17 year old cat has his preferences in cat food. He likes Purina Tender Treats. The local shops shelves are bare. There has been a downhill slide for about a year, with plentiful supplies of the flavors my cat doesn't like and occasional supplies of the flavors he prefers.

About 6 months ago I switched to Chewy. I could order all his favorite stuff. Saves me a useless trip to check out the store.

About a month ago I went to order some stuff from Chewy. Got enough to hold for a couple months but about half of what I hoped to buy was out of stock. It has been out of stock since then. At least I don't have to drive to the store to find out that it's out of stock. I can sit on my butt and find out on my computer.

I did try some substitutes and so far my cat has been OK with them. But in a couple months he may be eating people food (if that isn't in short supply by then).

I haven't been watching the dog food supply since I don't have a dog, but I suspect some cats are going to be eating dog food soon if not now. The dog food is on the other side of the pet food aisle in the store, and I just don't bother to turn my head in that direction.

It may come to letting the cat out to find his own food. At least the weather's getting warmer and the cat is willing to go out for a while. We have an abundant supply of chipmunks in our area, which are not a threatened or endangered species. I think our chickens are safe. They're bigger than he is.
