Hi guys
I finally took a giant leap this evening and ordered myself a Sony Alpha A77 for the princely sum of £825 for the body only brand new. A saving of around £100 on the rrp. As yet I am still unsure whether to get shot of my A300 and maybe invest in a new piece of glass or to keep it as a backup / Second body.
However my reason for posting is this.Aside from reading the manual and then reading it again is there any standout features, things to be aware of, useful tips or general info regarding this camera I would need to know or would find it useful to know prior to my new baby arriving on Monday morning (unless I'm really lucky and it gets here on Saturday)

Na, I would get shot of the A300, it will be really slow and difficult to use once you get your hands on the A77. So, to save you time disposing of it, please send it to me it and I'll find some use for it,lol. Oh and by the way, I am also a Sony Alpha user, but all I've got is the A230. To be honest I'd keep the A300 as a backup in case you have any problems

get shot of means get rid of or sell my A300... we talk funny over here apparently lol
and to 1066 i am totally willing to post it to you, however there is a 100% chance of it getting lost in the mail haha!!!

That is a lot of Scratch 825 lbs you can get the top of the heap sony here in canada for that or less

The Pound isn't what it used to be. Its only worth about $1.60 now.

Yea and the sony flag ship SLR is around $2600 . But the tester's say its better than the D800 and the cannon mark111. Well why not they have had, in the past the best tv for years the xbr . The best transisters radeo, vio lap .top watch out cannon , nikon, now they even got a $2100 small camera thats

Thanks for clearing up my post, I think next time I'll have to be careful what I type ( I mean, Saying "shot" probably means only one thing in the US, well yeah...."shot" ). I forget that our American cousins don't understand some of our lingo (ok, LINGO means LANGUAGE),there I go again. Anyway you could simply "shoot" with your new camera and use the A300 as an assault rifle,lol.

After getting the a77 why would you wish to go back to a lesser camera?? I have the a57 and a200 but i will not be using the a200 any time soon,you will rarely hear of the Sony cameras going wrong but the hog is full of other brands troubles.
