So I thought I might share this with you all, something you may not have known.
There is a law in the UK that all black (taxi cabs) must carry a hay bale in their trunk. The law is approximately 200 years old, and dates to the time when taxi cabs, (Hackney Carriages) were powered by horses, and many drivers neglected to feed them often enough. The law was put in place so as to ensure that they always had something to feed them with. The law is still in place to this day, (although no longer enforced)! Have a great day all, (and don't forget to feed your horses)!

Sorry to burst your bubble but that rule was repealed in 1976!

But still well after the horses were out of the picture.
This law used to exist but was rescinded at least forty years ago under a piece of legislation that removed many other redundant UK laws.

It depends on how well you feed your horses 😁
Also,in London, the taxie drivers must pass a test on the "Book", the map of London streets, if you don't pass the test proving you know where every street in located in London, you don"t get a taxy license!
