Sony A1 camera that tumbled down Olympic Ski slope, survived. What do you think of this?
Maybe they should have taught staff photographers how to hold on to a camera.
It is always good to hear when a piece of equipment {or person} survives a fall or other possible disaster!

Probably better this than a plunge into the pool at the summer games!

Only lens hood and rear lcd screen replaced, camera finished taking photos, and was back on the slopes after Sony Pro Services replaced the hood and rear LCD screen. I guess all those news services that switched to Sony knew how tough a camera they were handing over to their staff photographers, worldwide.

The Nikon F36 survived the Vietnam war the dirt the bombs And good photographer could use it without the battery because it was all mechanical and only needed a battery for the meter . And yes many fell down hillsides the camera and Nikromat were the standard of the time . Nikon been there Done that its about time for a Sony to finally do it . Did i also say they have been to space and the Moon still used today by NASA .

Sony might want to grab the old Timex slogan for it's next marketing plan.

Not exactly a fall. No real impact just a bit of rolling and mostly sliding.
Interesting to watch it slide down and the great catch.
While watching the video, I noticed at least three pieces breaking off the camera during the fall.
