stacked dice

While working to become familiar with a new strobe I came up with this result. Dice tossed in front of a black piece of poster board. Images stacked to get this result. I am looking for critique as I may enter in our club's annual competition.

Thanks for looking.

Great idea, there are two areas I would alter in the lower middle as the dice are noticeably different to the rest and the bits of dice on the right to me look a bit odd with the rest being full dice or 1 or 2 faces of a dice..

I like it and the technical aspects of it. Dont be surprised if the judges are a bit confused since they dont take a lot of time to ponder. It took me a few mins to figure out but made total sense after a few seconds. My only 2 cents would be to try to fill in the two black dots on the die that are white rather than black. BTW, the dots are called pips!

Let us know how the pic is received!

Happy shooting

Thank you for looking and taking the time and effort to comment.

I see the oddity and am working on an acceptable solution. I have a version where I masked out the oddity at the bottom and it appears acceptable. The oddity above it, where the three pips (thanx Hip Coyote) are white, is more problematic. The face of the die is part of the same photo of die seen behind it.

Perhaps I need to see which of the other pics I took and did not stack into this example will fit.

Thanks again.

Thank you for looking and commenting.

I thought about filling in the pips and still may. The challenge will be picking the "donor" pip to copy. The reflection of the flash is elongated in some of the pips as the unit was set to flash five times during the exposure. Not all pips reflect the flash equally.

Competition not until November so I have time to refine this experiment.

On another note, thanks for moderating this section.

Thank you for looking and taking the time and effo... (show quote)

Would be interesting to see what you come up with. As you say you have quite a while to play with it and I am sure you will find a solution..
