Gulls Leaving

Trying out different backdrops.
Belfair State Park 2-6-2022. Kewl day-46 F, lite breeze fog just burning off. Saw some gulls leaving, thought to take a few shots and work with some alternative processing.
D500, 1/4000, f 8, ISOs below 1000, handheld with still arthritic hands, no CPL, EC -1.3, bright Winter's day. Some background work and cropping, pp did occur.

I agreed with Mike on #2, until I downloaded it, when that objection seemed to evaporate. And the only nit I can find to pick with #1 is that I find the left and right margins closer to the wings than I'd prefer. All in all, I'd say awfully nice work.

I prefer the first one over the second one. I find the texture works well with the subject. The second one not so much.

Nice Tim, this kind of play can be a lot of fun and produce some satisfying results. I like these and they will look great printed large.
