It certainly does...the main mountain range runs right along the east side of the continent, not sure who told you we don't have any mountains...might not be any Mount Everests but we have some high mountains.

Mount Kosciuszko is the tallest mountain peak in mainland Australia at 2,228 meters (7,310 feet) tall. It is located in the state of New South Wales. (Great Dividing Range)

I know it does...
Point was that it was stated that Iceland is not a "sand" island because it had mountains.....
So if "sand" islands don't have mountains.
A little erroneous, eh?

No! Stay, just because I have to stop playing and do something doesn't mean you do. I just made a few suggestions if you get tired of it.

A few years back there were a group of a few pairs of regular posters in The Attic that used the same words and phrases, misspelled the same words etc. But were fire and brimstone on opposite sides all the time. There was a rumor that they were the same people with different accounts.

At some point I will probably tire of the idiocy, but not yet.
Besides, I don't live photography.

Interesting. But you know how rumors work.....
Using similar words and phrases is not really indicative of me possibly being an Attic Dweller. I don't subscribe to that forum, and usually when a thread goes to the Attic, I leave the thread.
I assure you I only have one account.
If (and when) I get booted off I may come back to simply watch for the entertainment only.
But there will be many excellent people here that I will miss. Some, not so much. They know who they are.

Have a great day!

Australia is not the "sand island" it is Fraser Island Queensland that is the world's largest sand island.

Someone asked how you could tell Iceland was not a sand island and I replied it has mountains - sand makes dunes, not mountains but I guess I should have said because it is volcanic and composed of igneous(volcanic) rock.
Iceland, like the Hawaiian Islands is a large volcanic formation coming up from the ocean floor. The soils, sand on beaches etc. are weathered down from the igneous rocks of the volcanos in Iceland so most sand is black, some other colors are present. In Hawaii you get the white sand beaches from coral - though researching just now I found that it is so white because it has passed through the digestive track of Parrot Fish and been bleached in the process. Man that is a lot of Parrot Fish Poop!

Ahh, thanks for the correction, I misread. I missed "Frazier Island"
I read (interpreted) on the premise that they were all about Australia, the continent.
Oops...

As for our dangerous "things", spiders jelly fish, etc, etc, most of these things I've never seen in my life (outside a museum or zoo)..people won't visit here because they are afraid of them but I can assure you, there is absolutely no need to be scared. And I've spent a lot of time in the bush doing photography.

I've spent 30 years solo hiking in remote wilderness areas of Tasmania and the most dangerous thing is the weather.
