It was a beautiful day yesterday and the crowds turned out to walk at the Wakodahatchee Wetlands. It did not disappoint. The slightly overcast sky provided great diffuse lighting. For those not familiar, these wetlands in Boca Raton ("Mouth of the Rat" in Spanish...
) were developed as part of the wastewater treatment system, but the fact that the wildlife has been attracted to them as well as hundreds of visitors daily prompted the installation of a boardwalk system over a mile long, making a visit safe for all by keeping the visitors away from the wildlife and out of the mud...
Although we saw some nest-building activity, the only actual nesting witnessed was one great blue sitting on a nest. We did see several green iguanas - I am not sure if there is an effort to actively kill or remove these invasive things or not.
Equipment used: Canon 6D v.1 and Canon 100-400mm L lens v. 1 All images SOC (with some cropping) except the last one which had minimal work to salvage some details in the whiteness of the stork...
