Yesterday was a game of, hunt for photographs, that I know most of us play sometimes. My friend and I started out at the Goleta Slough looking for great photographic opportunities but found the tide was out and the slough water about as shallow as we had ever seen it. We went into the mountains after harriers instead. We did see the pair but at one time they seemed to be higher than an airliner at what looked to be about 40,000 feet. I did get one decent but not completely sharp photograph of a small bird on a rock. No idea what it is/was for a name. We then went to a city park I had never been to and found not too many birds but a plethora of flowers and a few birds, one a woodpecker of some type, another a western bluebird, I think, and a sparrow. All in all it ended up being a successful day as almost all are. It is nice getting out in nature. Any photographs are just icing on the cake.

A lot of work, but the results are worth it, Dennis!
You had a really good day. 8 and 9 are the winners for me.

You are right Mike. I have yet to have a bad day of photography or anything else for that matter. Happiness is what we make it. I am one of those people who refuse to be unhappy. Glad you like the photos.

Thank you NMGal. Those photos were last second finds as we were leaving the park. We were headed for the car, out the exit when I turned around and saw those two flowers. I took those photos and so did my friend. Not a bad ending.
