Good idea. Images sent to the cloud, I assume. : )

There is a neat miniseries showing on our local PBS station called "Animals with Cameras" - it is out of Australia. To keep the cameras small they do not transmit the images, but the collars are designed such that, upon receiving a radio signal, they unlatch and fall off. That way the animals are not saddled with the camera for life, and the images, which I imagine are on a microSD card, are retrieved. I watched a show yesterday where they attached small cameras to the backs of large flying fox fruit bats using a little vest. After a night of foraging, they went to the bat roosting spot and signaled the vests to drop off. They got some very interesting footage of how the bats foraged for food and what sorts of flowers and fruits they were eating.
Probably a GPS tracker with a bit of memory. Since these are endangered the migration patterns are followed by Fish and Wildlife.
